I absolutely expect our business to grow through the remainder of the year. We’ve built tremendous momentum over the past several months, and I believe we’re approaching an inflection point for scaling the brand.
Participating in events like ECRM and Cosmoprof, combined with the relationships we’ve built organically, has led to exciting conversations with both major retailers, distributors and emerging e-commerce platforms. Those conversations are beginning to translate into tangible opportunities. Fingers and toes crossed!
We’re also expanding our assortment by entering the body care category with the launch of our newest product, Glo-Setter After-Sun Cool Down Spray, which allows us to reach an entirely new customer. I believe the second half of the year will be pivotal, not just because of new distribution opportunities, but because we’re putting the building blocks in place for the next phase of growth.
I think the beauty industry is in the middle of a reset. It’s redefining itself in real time, and brands have to be incredibly agile to succeed. We’re seeing established retailers reassess their commitments to diversity and inclusion while new e-commerce platforms emerge to serve consumers looking for brands that better reflect their values. At the same time, founders are navigating inflation, rising supply chain costs, global uncertainty and changing shopping behaviors.
Innovation has never been more important. Consumers don’t need another age-defying cream or another makeup brand unless it genuinely brings something new to the table. They’re looking for products that solve real problems, simplify their routines and align with their values.
I also think consumers are redefining what “value” means. It’s no longer just about finding the lowest price. Today’s shoppers are looking for complete systems that work, save time and deliver consistent results. Simplicity, effectiveness, and trust have become just as important as cost.
That’s where I think Niles + Chaz has an advantage. We serve multicultural families with clean, effective solutions designed specifically for textured hair, while also meeting the expectations of the next generation of consumers who refuse to compromise on sustainability, ingredient transparency and products formulated without hormone-disrupting ingredients.
One thing I don’t think will change is the continued growth of the textured hair category. Shopping habits may evolve, whether that’s more e-commerce, more value shopping, or different retail channels, but the need for products that truly work isn’t going away. As textured hair becomes an increasingly dominant hair type around the world, we’re excited about where the category—and our brand—is headed. The world may be changing quickly, but AI still isn’t going to detangle your curls!
